Christina Aguilera Gets Dirrty and Recreates Iconic Look From Her 'Stripped' Era
After she released a new music video for “Beautiful,” two decades after the original.
Christina Aguilera took to social media to recreate one of her iconic looks from her Stripped era, which took place 20 years ago.
“Where my fighters at?” she captioned the video post, referencing her fandom, who got their name from the track of the same title. In the clip, Xtina is rocking her signature blonde and black hair while her classic track “Dirrty” plays.
The clip comes nearly a week after she released a new music video for “Beautiful,” one of the singles from her 2002 album Stripped. She decided to recreate the music video in honor of the album’s 20th anniversary as well as World Mental Health Day.
“We are beautiful, no matter what they say,” she captioned a post on Instagram. “A message I will always stand by and a message I prioritize to instill in my own children through every chapter of their lives!”
She continued, “Today, it’s harder than ever to hear our own voice amongst so many others infiltrating our feeds and minds with mixed messaging … Ultimately leading us to tune-out our own truth and self-worth. The original ‘Beautiful’ video set out to bring awareness and a sense of compassion in the face of judgment, criticism and outside opinions. It still carries an important message to remember our core values outside of what’s being fed to us … To find a sense of balance and accepting ourselves for who we are.”
