Introducing Dala, the London-Based Label Making a Case for Sustainable Denim

Each pair of jeans comes complete with bar tacks at the hem, to allow its wearer to tailor at home with ease.

London-based label Dala is the latest addition to the current sustainable denim selection, designed by former denim consultant Rosie Ingleby.

The brand fuses vintage washing with heritage techniques to create an elevated denim offering. With the aim of utilizing high-quality materials and considered cuts, Dala seeks to provide hardwearing pieces that last, taking wearers from day to night with ease.

With ethical production at the heart of the brand’s practices, Dala formed a partnership with BDA, a Paraguayan, B Corp-certified factory which works to The Jeans Redesign’s standards. As a result, Dala’s jeans are made without polluting or abrasive chemicals, opting for ozone and laser-based treatments as an alternative for fabric texturing.

Each piece’s shanks and metal hardware are eco-finished and removable in a bid to aid the circular lifestyle of Dala’s products. Jeans also come complete with bar tacks and the hem, allowing its wearer to tailor them to their desired length at home. Water used during Dala’s production process is pumped back into the factory, with BDA also recycling all its waste fabric.

Dala’s denim offering is now available for purchase in sizes 24 through 44, from the brand’s website.
