Octavia Banks Launches Debut Knitwear Collection
The emerging London label moves away from its signature marble print.
Emerging London-based brand, Octavia Banks, was first founded in November 2020 after fashion graduate Charlotte Banks felt artistically stifled by the effects of the pandemic and multiple national lockdowns. Banks’ brand rose to prominence through her now-Trademarked marbling technique, which later became the brand’s unique signifier.
Now, Octavia Banks is moving away from its classic style, evolving into the brand’s debut knitwear collection. Dubbed Arazzo, the collection was hand-crafted with Italian merino wool and inspired by Banks’ time spent in Florence, after exploring the world of renaissance Italian tapestry.
“I wanted to push myself for this collection and really focus on the detailing of the clothes. As the brand has grown in the past two years, so has my design journey and I believe this collection showcases that. We want Octavia Banks pieces to be clothes that you will reach for in your wardrobe for years to come,” explains founder Charlotte Banks in a press release.
Offering the brand’s largest and most ambitious collection to date, Arazzo is home to a range of Banks’ signature silhouettes alongside newly-introduced styles. Standout pieces include The Boxer Tank and the Reversible Marbled Knit Corset Top, alongside the Hand Knitted Bridal Gown — a cardigan gown which took over 30 hours to hand-craft.
