Starbucks Japan Introduces Spooky Drinks and Desserts for Halloween

Meet the Purple Halloween Frappuccino.

With Halloween just around the corner, StarbucksJapan branch has introduced a range of spooky-themed drinks and desserts for the season.

Following up on black-and-slimy green drinks from previous years, the latest Halloween lineup features the Purple Halloween Frappuccino, a limited-time drink that uses murasaki imo (a type of sweet potato) as the base. The cream-based beverage is topped with purple sweet potato powder and vanilla sauce. The drink is accompanied by the Melty Raspberry in Halloween Cake, which is essentially a cupcake with purple raspberry filling.

In addition to the purple-themed menu items, Starbucks Japan is furthering its Halloween celebrations with a Mango Passionfruit Tea Frappuccino with citrus pulp and whipped cream, along with Matcha Cream Frappuccino.

Take a sneak peek at the drinks above and below. The Purple Halloween Frappuccino is available at Starbucks stores in Japan starting October 19 and will be available until October 31.

In related news, Krispy Kreme has launched “Haunted House” donuts this season.
