These Are the Winners of the 2022 MOBO Awards
Including Mahalia and Nia Archives.
The 2022 MOBO Awards are finally upon us and at long last, we have this year’s full list of nominees and winners. Leading the charge with two wins on the night was acclaimed London artist Central Cee, who won ‘Best Male Act’ and ‘Video of the Year.’
Pinkpantheress won ‘Best Female Act’ while Mahalia won the award for ‘Best R&B/Soul,’ with presenter Nella Rose winning ‘Best Media Personality.’ This year’s ceremony also played host to two new categories, hoping to further acknowledge the breadth of music of Black origin. The new categories included “Best Alternative Music Act” and ”Best Dance/Electronic Act.”
Speaking about the 25th anniversary of the awards, MOBO’s Founder, Kanya King, said in a statement, “What a bumper year it has been for the scene. It’s a proud moment to see MOBO once again recognise and honour the luminaries and tip the stars of the future. This is what it means when we say ‘honouring the past, inspiring the future.’”
