This Year's MOBO Awards Will Take Place in London
Marking the 25th anniversary of the ceremony.
The 2022 MOBO Awards, aka the U.K.’s biggest celebration of Black musical talent, is set to take place in London, marking 25 years of the ceremony.
In a statement, MOBO founder Kanya King said, “It’s a proud moment to see MOBO Awards return to London for our big 25-year milestone, which will see us celebrating our legacy, as well as paying it forward to the biggest stars of the scene. 25 years ago I put my house and sanity on the line to make the first MOBO Awards happen at the Connaught Rooms and what an incredible journey it has been.”
King added that this year’s 25th-anniversary edition of the MOBOs is set to be “the biggest celebration we have ever created. I want MOBO to continue being a beacon for the best talent this country has to offer. Here’s to the next 25 years!”
Last year’s ceremony was held in Coventry and saw presenters like Munya Chawawa and former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock take to the stage, alongside performers like Tems and Bree Runway. Little else is known about this year’s ceremony, but we expect a full list of nominees and performers to be announced in the coming weeks.
This year’s MOBO Awards will take place on November 30 at Wembley’s OVO Arena. Tickets are now available for purchase from the MOBO website.
