Bodega Drops New Balance 9060 and Apparel Collaboration with Aminé
Step into your “Age of Discovery.”
Boston-based select shop Bodega has joined forces yet again with New Balance to deliver a refreshed take on the 9060 sneakers. Following in tow is an apparel collection with none other than rapper Aminé, a brand ambassador for the American footwear brand.
The collaborative launch is designed with the modern renaissance man, the sartorial savant who is as comfortable in a fine art museum as they are at McDonald’s. In the cinematic campaign, Aminé plays the role of the chef, musician and painter, flexing his many hypothetical talents. The assortment of garments is versatile enough to be worn for a myriad of occasions as inventive camel and bright pink pants instantly transform into cargo shorts with a few mere zips. Elsewhere, a utilitarian-inspired mockneck pullover bears a dignified look as it arrives in a somber slate grey shade. The color palette picks up in the collection as T-shirts are outfitted in retro-inspired ’80s graphics and appear in soft hues of white and mauve.
The star of the drop is, of course, the Bodega x New Balance 9060 trainer, which utilizes a chocolate brown and blue colorway with pops of grey. The textural suede contours add intrigue and sensory excitement, while the chunky sole ground the shoe. The sneaker does not skimp on color as splashes of purple can be seen on the N-logo on the side as well as the eyelets. A shocking yellow sits on the front tab, brightening up the fuzzy brown tongue. Not to mention, the updated 9060 comes with three different lace options.
The Bodega x New Balance 9060 will have a suggested retail price of $180 USD, whereas the apparel
collection ranges approximately from $45 to $140 USD. The collaboration will be sold exclusively at Bodega’s website and brick and mortar stores on December 10, followed by a global release on New Balance’s online store on December 15.
