Watch Robert Pattinson in the Official Trailer for Bong Joon-Ho's New Movie 'Mickey 17'
Starring alongside Mark Ruffalo, Steven Yeun and more.
The film, which stars Robert Pattinson and Mark Ruffalo, is based on the novel Mickey 7 written by Edward Ashton. The trailer sees the Batman star lying inside a sci-fi, CT scan-like machine, with the camera slowly zooming into his face. The actor will additionally costar alongside Steven Yeun (Minari and Walking Dead), Naomi Ackie (I Wanna Dance With Somebody) and Toni Collette.
While not much is known about the movie as of now but based on the original book’s synopsis, the story follows a “disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the ice world Niflheim.” It further reads, “Whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous—even suicidal—the crew turns to Mickey. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact. After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal…and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it.”
Mickey 17 is the first movie Bong will be releasing after the global success of Parasite, which starred Choi Woo-shik, Park So-dam, Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong and more. Aside from the 2019 film, Bong has numerous hits in his filmography, from Okja and Snowpiercer to The Host and Memories of Murder.
