New Balance Unveils Jewel-Toned 990V2 Silhouette

The athletic sneaker gets a luxe makeover.

New Balance has had a pretty big year, and it’s clear that the sportswear label has no plans to slow down in 2023.

Since the appointment of Made in USA Creative Director, Teddy Santis, the brand has gone from strength to strength and its latest offering may just be its funkiest drop yet. First teased on Instagram, the new 990V2 appears transformed with luxe jewel tones, featuring an upper comprised of deep purple and pink.

The sneaker features light mesh layers and smooth suede overlays, all in keeping with its Fall/Winter color palette. Elsewhere, the 990V2 features striking accents of a muted yellow, applied to its ‘N’ logo and interior liners, almost as a nod to the shoe’s Lakers-style aesthetic. The sneaker is complete with bright white laces and tongues, finished with an ABZORB-cushioned midsole and subtle injections of cream on its exterior. A solid black outsole brings the retro colorway to a close.

Take an early look at the new sneakers above, set to land on New Balance’s website on January 12.
