Master the Perfect Messy Bun With This TikTok Hack

In a twist of irony, the messy bun is somehow one of the hardest hairstyles to master, but celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton has mastered a super easy 30-second technique and thankfully, shared his method on TikTok. Considering Appleton is the mastermind behind Dua Lipa and Kim Kardashian’s gorgeous tresses, you can rest assured this two-step hack is nearly foolproof.
To achieve the perfectly imperfect updo, Appleton starts by brushing the hair into a high ponytail, then pulling the hair at the front to slightly loosen it for the desired softly tousled look. Next, he splits the ponytail in two sections, tying the two separate pieces into a knot. Creating an additional knot with the remaining hair, he pins any flyaways to the bun.
