Lizzo Shares a Snippet of Her New Single and It's Contagious as Hell
It’s “About Damn Time.”
It’s been three years since Lizzo dropped her Grammy Award-winning album Cuz I Love You. Despite releasing “Rumors” last year featuring Cardi B, fans are craving more from the artist, and she agrees.
During her interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden earlier this week, Lizzo finally announced that she has a second album on the way. The “Good As Hell” singer also gave the audience a sneak peek of her upcoming single dubbed “About Damn Time,” a fitting title to commemorate her new project. Based on the snippet Corden played, Lizzo has tapped into the disco era with her groovy beat and contagious lyrics.
According to Lizzo, only her close friends and family have listened to the new album. “My mama was the last to hear it because she’s a Virgo and a harsh critic,” she told Corden. “She cried. She loved it.”
In addition to her record, Lizzo is set to host and perform on Saturday Night Live! on April 16. “This is my season. I’m about to be everywhere and I’m about to announce the biggest thing YET. Bigger than anything I’ve ever done. Three years in the making. A dream come true,” the talent announced on Instagram.
Stay tuned for the release of “About Damn Time.” Lizzo’s second album will drop on April 14.
