UPDATE (August 13, 2021): After much anticipation, Lizzo has finally released her new “Rumors” single. In collaboration with Cardi B, the duo stars in the track’s Hercules-inspired music video dressed to the nines in modern togas along with extravagant hairstyles.

“Talk and talk and talk and talk/Give ‘em somethin’ to talk about/Sick of rumors, but hater’s do what they do,” Lizzo sings in the chorus with Cardi ending it with, “Hater’s do what they do.” “All the rumors are true, yeah/Fake ass, fake boobs, yeah/Made a million at Sue’s, yeah/Got me runnin’ with fake news, yeah/Cardi ain’t poppin’, no, that’s a machine,” the rapper spits bars in her verse.

UPDATE (August 9, 2021): As fans anxiously wait for Lizzo to drop her new single “Rumors,” the musician has now unveiled a surprise collaborator for the upcoming track.

The artist made the announcement with a video of a FaceTime call captioned, “GUESS WHOS HOPPIN ON ‘RUMORS’ W/ ME?!?” Cardi B answers, wearing a pink beanie. “That’s who’s featuring y’all. It’s Harry Styles,” Lizzo jokingly says, referring to rumors that surfaced prior to the grand reveal.

Marking Lizzo’s first release in over two years, “Rumors” featuring Cardi B will drop on August 13.

ORIGINAL STORY (August 2, 2021): Lizzo‘s first new single since 2019 is releasing imminently. The artist will make her musical comeback with “Rumors,” set to drop in mid-August.

In addition to releasing a new track, Lizzo will also become the first female artist to headline Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in September. The star is also slated to perform at Global Citizen Live, Firefly Music Festival, Outside Lands and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival later this fall.

The songstress announced “Rumors” on Instagram with a first look at the single’s cover art. “NEW ERA BITCH,” her caption reads. There’s no word yet on what the track will sound like, but we’re positive it’ll be a banger.

Lizzo’s “Rumors” releases on August 13.
