McDonald's Japan Debuts Sakura-Flavored Pie

Just in time for the spring season.

Just in time for cherry blossom season, McDonald’s Japan is adding a new sakura-flavored pie to its menu.

The release follows up on the fast-food chain’s previous spring-themed treats including the sakura-flavored McFlurry. This time around, the company has updated its classic Apple Pie with inspiration from sakuramochi, a dish that features a pink-colored mochi, red bean paste filling and a pickled cherry blossom leaf. The Sakuramochi Pie arrives with a pink-colored outer crust, with sakura-flavored mochi and sweet red bean paste on the inside. The treat is packaged in a cherry blossom-themed box.

Peep the Sakuramochi Pie above. The new menu will be available at McDonald’s Japan locations from March 23 through mid-April.
