Meghan Markle and Prince Harry To Potentially Serve as Part-Time Royals
Once Prince Charles steps into his position as king.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might serve as part-time royals once Prince Charles changes his title from prince to king.
Royal author Tom Quinn recently appeared on the To Di For Daily podcast, where he claimed the couple believes that when the elder royals die, they might be able to return to the U.K. and carry out their responsibilities part-time.”So that they would be working royals [for six months] and six months in the States or wherever doing their own thing,” Quinn cited sources in the palace.
Back in September 2021, Queen Elizabeth released a statement that read: “In stepping away from the work of the Royal Family, it is not possible to continue with the duties that come with a life of public service.” Quinn added: “I think [Markle] and Harry are hoping that [Prince] Charles, [being] Harry’s father, will say to them, ‘OK, if you want to be part-time royals, that’s fine.’”
Prior to the interview, Prince Harry confirmed that he will not be attending the queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year due to family concerns and misunderstandings regarding personal security.
Stay tuned as we learn more about the situation.
