Vivienne Westwood Debuts New Eyewear Silhouettes in "Sun" Collection

Arriving in three categories: Vanguard, Essence and Prêt-à-Porter.

Vivienne Westwood‘s “Sun” collection plays with proportion and asymmetry in eyewear.

Andreas Kronthaler, the brand’s creative director, touches upon the experimental designs that combine ’60s Italian glamour with durable sports-inspired frames: “Sunglasses should be the embodiment of personal theater. They can make any look an extension of your style. Of course, they have a purpose, but they should be fun, playful and joyous.”

The range is divided into three categories: Vanguard, featuring androgynous avant-garde styles; Essence, which comprises classic silhouettes with signature Westwood details; and Prêt-à-Porter, inspired by the retro-futuristic styles worn by Hollywood celebrities. Accessories in the collection are crafted using bio-based acetate and hardwearing metals. To fulfill the label’s sustainability standards, the products are packaged in a recycled by-product leather case, polyester cloth and organic cotton bag.

The “Sun” collection is currently available online and at Vivienne Westwood’s boutiques in New York and Los Angeles.
