Vivienne Westwood's Bridal Collections Are Anything but Conventional
Focusing on individuality and transformation, ready to take you from the ceremony to the after-party.
Vivienne Westwood is reimagining the wedding dress for 2027, unveiling its latest Couture and Made-to-Order Bridal collections with a focus on individuality, transformation and unconventional romance. You definitely don’t have to forgo personal style on your big day.
Captured at Syon House, the collections bring the house’s signature mix of historical references and rebellious design to bridalwear, exploring how a gown can evolve alongside the person wearing it. Think dramatic corsetry, sculptural lines and intricate lace, with detachable trains and interchangeable layers that allow brides to switch up their looks from ceremony to after-party.
The Made-to-Order collection plays with the idea of a dress as a living heirloom. Highlights include a lace gown featuring dramatic Elizabethan sleeves and a high collar, and elsewhere a structured corset with a sculptural tulip skirt and detachable train. You can also find playful mini dresses that bring a more unexpected edge to the offering, because we all know every bride is different.
Meanwhile, the Couture collection takes metamorphosis as its starting point, presenting 11 bespoke looks designed to transform throughout your celebrations. Standouts include “Aurelia,” with pink floral embroidery and gold tulle panniers, and “Daphne,” a layered lace gown that gradually reveals a mini dress and coordinating bloomers. Each couture piece is individually designed and handcrafted in the house’s London atelier, with personalized sketches, fittings and artisanal detailing completing the process.
For Westwood, bridalwear is less about tradition and more about making the dress entirely your own. Take a look at the romantic imagery above and head to the brand’s website for more.
