Cardi B on Not Attending the 2022 Grammys and Deleting Her Social Media Accounts
The rapper received backlash pertaining to her kids and the awards show.
Cardi B did not attend the 2022 Grammys, which many fans were not happy about. As a result, she received some backlash, which she addressed on Twitter before deleting her account.
“I’m deleting my Twitter but on God I hate this f– king dumbass fanbase,” the rapper tweeted before getting rid of her account. “You got the slow dumbasses dragging my kids all cause y’all [thought] I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t, the f– k? When the f–k I hinted I was going? Just f –king stupid. I can’t. I need to protect myself.”
One person then came at Cardi, bringing her son into it. “I bet yo son wouldn’t like for you to be on your ass while teasing us fans and not ever dropping music,” the person tweeted, to which Cardi replied, “I hope your moms die.”
Another user tweeted Cardi, “@iamcardib do you kiss your [autistic] child with that mouth?” The musician replied, “None of my kids are autistic … Don’t project what you got on my kids the f–k.”
From there, Cardi clarified her response, “I never said there was nothing [sic] wrong with people who have [autism], but don’t put that on my f–king kid.”
At one point, she took to Instagram Live to reveal why she didn’t attend the Grammys. “Why would I go to the awards for?” she asked. “Do I have any new music? Why would I show up with one nomination?” Since then, she’s also deleted her Instagram account.
