Coach Opens "Crafted to Last" Pop-Up in Tokyo

Featuring consciously-designed limited-edition bags.

Iconic American handbag brand Coach has unveiled its first pop-up with environmentally preferred materials in mind.  Celebrating the timeless label’s commitment to craftsmanship, the “Crafted to Last” pop-up in Isetan Stage, Tokyo highlights an array of consciously-designed limited edition bags, including the iconic Rogue arriving in “Original Natural Leather” — a vegetable-tanned leather that has been treated with naturally-sourced dyes and finished with organic wax.

Other products feature a truly artisanal technique, utilizing floral printing where flowers are gingerly pressed onto the leather and dyed with plant-based materials. The temporary installation will also carry canvas totes containing materials made from recycled plastic bottles and upwoven bags crafted from upcycled salvaged leather scraps. The store also offers bags and small leather goods from the brand’s Spring 2021 collection with Coach’s diary embroidery, complete with colorful hand stitched words and limited-edition motifs of the Japanese-inspired Maneki Neko and Mt. Fujiusing, using recycled thread.

Customers who purchase an item at the pop-up will also have the opportunity to customize their bags with embroidery.
