Nicki Minaj Pays Tribute to Adele and Talks Anxiety in New 'Carpool Karaoke' Episode
Marking the series’ return after a two-year pause.
The Late Late Show with James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke series makes its return from its two-year pause with Nicki Minaj as the guest star.
During the episode, the rapper jammed out to some of her past hits, including “Monster,” which Adele previously performed on the series. During that jam session, both Minaj and a portion of Adele’s past episode were edited to be in sync thanks to a split screen. Additionally, Minaj paid tribute to the British singer and performed “Someone Like You” during the car ride.
Besides singing along with the talk show host, Minaj got candid about some of the struggles she faces, such as anxiety. “I think when I was younger, my more natural state was to be more confident,” she said. “But I think when you’re a woman and you’re in the public eye all the time, if you’re not careful, you can become less confident because you’re being constantly scrutinized. I just don’t think it’s natural. It’s not natural for a human being to feel like everyone’s critiquing them.”
