Watch the First Teaser Trailer for 'Avatar: The Way of Water'
Premiering 13 years after the first film.
Avatar: The Way of Water has finally debuted its official first teaser trailer. The clip was first exclusively shown to audiences at CinemaCon in April; however, now everyone finally gets to see a glimpse of what the beloved characters are up to since the first film premiered in 2009.
“Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids),” reads the official synopsis. “The trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”
In the teaser trailer, fans get an inside look into a new frontier for the Sully family: the underwater world. The only dialogue in the teaser is when Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) gives Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) some reassurance towards the end. “I know one thing: Wherever we go, this family is our fortress,” he tells her.
