Opening Ceremony Celebrates 20th Anniversary With LUAR Collab
Featuring the buzzy NYC brand’s Ana Mini bag.
Opening Ceremony has teamed up with buzzy New York label LUAR as part of its 20th-anniversary celebrations.
The collaboration celebrates the friendship between Raul Lopez and OC’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, which dates back 15 years. The capsule consists of two exclusive colorways of LUAR’s signature Ana Mini bag — a pony hair design in brown and a snakeskin-embossed vegan leather option. In addition to the purses, the duo has designed a black sweatshirt featuring Dominican-American artist Bony Ramirez’s artwork Feeding a Child of the Ocean on the back.
Leon and Lim spoke of the collaboration: “When we decided to bring together our friends new and old for collaborations this year, Raul was a no-brainer. Outside of being a dear personal friend of ours, we have such a deep pride and respect for what Raul has built with LUAR, and we love how everything he creates deeply reflects the unmatched energy of New York.” Lopez added: “When I started to take my first steps as a designer, OC was the first store to believe in me and support me. OC will forever be family to me.”
