19-Year-Old Activist Shuts Down Matt Gaetz's Misogynistic Comments

 Olivia Julianna for president, please.

Just when you think Matt Gaetz couldn’t get any scummier, he goes and proves us wrong. The middle-aged man who is under investigation for allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old, as well as sex trafficking, recently body-shamed those who want to have abortions.

This past weekend, the Florida republican decided to recycle an old conservative joke at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa. Speaking to an audience of young minds, the U.S. representative said, “Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant are the ones most worried about having abortions? Nobody wants to impregnate you if you look like a thumb,” he told the crowd of young conservatives, without even a touch of self-awareness. “I’m thinking, March? You look like you’ve got ankles weaker than the legal reasoning behind Roe v. Wade.” Cringe.

When Gen Z’s for Change, Olivia Julianna clapped back at Gaetz’s asinine comments, taking to Twitter to write, “It’s come to my attention that Matt Gaetz—alleged pedophile—has said that it’s always the ‘odious.. 5’2 350 pound’ women that ‘nobody wants to impregnate’ who rally for abortion. I’m actually 5’11. 6’4 in heels. I wear them so the small men like you are reminded of your place.”

The elected official attempted to craft a witty response, but instead tweeted “Dander raised,” without referencing Julianna’s original post. Proving who the real adult is, the 19-year-old Texas activist replied, “Am I not a little too old for you Matt?” Julianna asked in her reply. “I know you have a thing for targeting teenagers but 19 is on the cusp don’t you think?”

Fighting a battle against Gen Z on social media is never a wise idea as Julianna has since raised $400,000 USD to protect abortion rights. For the full story, head to Teen Vogue.
