'Stranger Things' Joseph Quinn Shares Possible Ideas for Eddie Munson's Return in Season 5
With the help of Joe Kerry.
Stranger Things‘ Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, has become a fan-favorite character of the hit Netflix series. However, considering how things panned out for the newcomer in the Season 4 finale, it’s quite possible viewers may not be seeing more of Eddie.

If you’ve already watched both parts of Season 4, then you know that Eddie dies, which was recently confirmed by the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers. Nonetheless, Quinn has been brainstorming with Joe Keery (Steve Harrington) on ways Eddie could make some sort of return in Season 5. One of the scenarios they came up with involves Dustin Henderson, portrayed by Gaten Matarazzo.
“Me and Joe were discussing ways in which I could kind of … Maybe I’d be like a figment of Gaten’s imagination or something,” the English actor told RadioTimes.com. “Like if there could be some kind of room for something like that, something a bit supernatural.” This is a similar concept as Billy (Dacre Montgomery), who still made appearances on the show despite being dead.
Quinn added, “But my suspicion is that Eddie has done what he needed to do for the [Duffer] brothers.”
Throughout the Season 4, Eddie remains the main suspect of a murder investigation. Only those close to him knew he was a hero and Quinn can’t help but wish the rest of Hawkins could at least discover that in the upcoming season.
“I think it would be nice for him to kind of have his name cleared,” he explained. “I think that would be satisfying for the audience. I think Eddie paid such a … He made the ultimate sacrifice for a town that thought he was a monster, which is a level of heroism that’s kind of hard to comprehend. But as I said, I’m not allowed in the writers’ room, so we’ll see what the grown ups think.”
Season 4 of Stranger Things is currently streaming on Netflix.
