Princess Diana's 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo S1 Is Going Up for Auction

Set to go live next week.

A rare 1985 Ford Escort RS2 Turbo once driven by Princess Diana is going up for auction.

Listed at Silverstone Auctions, the car was owned by Lady Di after her first Ford Escort 1.6 in red. She later switched to the black vehicle for reasons such as privacy and protection. The sports car,  featuring a five-slat front grille, a secondary rearview mirror and a radio with 24,961 miles, was purchased by a Ford RS collector before hitting Silverstone. In addition to the vehicle itself, the lot comes with maintenance receipts, Ford Motor Company internal memos, period registration documents and newspaper clippings, in addition to photos of Princess Diana in the car.

Head over to Silverstone Auctions‘ website to learn more about the lot. The auction will go live on August 27 at 10:30 a.m. BST (5:30 a.m. EST).
