Kim Kardashian Weighs in on the Overturning of Roe v. Wade
And offers tips on what can be done to create change.
As one of the most famous women of our generation, Kim Kardashian is using her platform to speak up about important topics, such as Roe v. Wade.
In June, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which ended almost 50 years of protected abortion rights across the United States. Kardashian, who’s currently studying law, shared her thoughts on this major setback.
“Just seeing how far our country has progressed, to then see it regress — it’s really scary to think that gay marriage is in jeopardy,” she said during her latest cover story for Interview. “If a court can decide what a woman does with her body, then it also puts having children through surrogacy, and things that I have been through, in jeopardy. I always believed people should live their lives exactly how they want to, so it’s really scary to see all of this happening.”
How can we change what’s happening? Kardashian says it’s about using our voices. “Never stop speaking your truth, and never stop fighting for what you believe in,” she said. “I think it’s so important to use your voice and speak out, and I do think that it’s effective.”
