Nelly Furtado Teases Musical Comeback With Possible Madonna Collab
Furtado has reportedly been working on her next album.
Nelly Furtado is back. The “Promiscuous” singer took to TikTok to share a video of herself in the recording studio, tagging Madonna in the caption, possibly hinting a future collab between the two.
In the video, Madonna appears first, blowing a kiss to the camera as Timbaland‘s “Give It To Me” plays with a voice over from Mean Girls in which Regina George says, “Why are you so obsessed with me?” The clip then cuts to Furtado doing the same while in the recording studio.
Furtado recently returned to the stage. Earlier this month, she performed at the Australian music festival Beyond the Valley, marking her first performance in five years. Additionally, she hasn’t released an album since 2017’s The Ride.
In mid-2022, it was reported that Furtado was working on her next album. At the time, musician Lido Pimienta also revealed that she was collaborating with Furtado. “The rumors are true. Nelly Furtado is in Barranquilla,” she tweeted. “She came to see me, she came to hang out and support a project that we’ve been working on for my next album.”
