Madlib Announces a Posthumous Mac Miller EP
Which he revealed he’s currently “finishing.”
There’s new Mac Miller music on the way thanks to Madlib. The producer-slash-rapper revealed he’s in the middle of working on a new EP that he started collaborating with Miller prior to his death.
Madlib confirmed forthcoming project, which has been greenlit by the late rapper’s estate. “Right now, I’m finishing up the Mac Miller album, Planet Asia album, Erykah Badu album, different stuff,” Madlib said during a recent appearance on Sway In The Morning.
Rumors of a Mac Miller x Madlib project first began circulating in 2019 after Miller’s producer Thelonious Martin spoke of its existence. Martin told DJBooth at the time, “[Madlib] just randomly plays a Mac Miller joint. And I turn to him, I’m like, ‘There’s more of these, right?’ He’s said, ‘Oh, yeah, there’s a whole album. Maclib. If Madlib decides to bless the world with that project, he should.”
A release date for the forthcoming EP, which would be Miller’s second posthumous project, has not been announced yet.
