Ariana Grande Shares an Update on Being "Halfway" Done Filming 'Wicked' Movies
Part 1 premieres on Thanksgiving 2024.
Ariana Grande has taken to Instagram to share with fans that she’s officially “halfway” done with filming Wicked, which will be releasing as two-part movies. The singer-slash-actor wrote a lengthy caption expressing what working on her dream role of Glinda means to her.
“Halfway,” she began her message. Savoring every millisecond left with my Galinda (although she’ll be with me irrevocably, forever). She shows me so many new things every day.”
Grande went on to explain how thankful she is for this opportunity. She continued, “I am so grateful, I don’t know what to do or say… To be here in Oz where everyday is a life changing one… To be feeling, learning and growing so much at such a disarming speed … To feel so much love around me, to begin each day before the sun is up and to end after it sets … To hold my brilliant twin flame / sister Cynthia [Ervio]‘s beautiful, green hands every day… To work in the safest, most beautiful and loving, biggest-yet-most-intimate/tiny-feeling spaces… To be led by the most thoughtful, brilliant, compassionate and warmest possible director on this planet, my other Ozian best friend ever Jon [M. Chu]… To be transforming and healing parts of me that I never knew needed it. Or maybe did.”
The cast of Wicked consists of Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard and Ethan Slater as Boq. Wicked Part 1 is slated to premiere on November 27, 2024.
