Take a First Look at 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes'

Coming to theaters on November 17.

Going back to the origins of the murderous spectacle sport, The Hunger Games is back with its prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

Starting 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, the upcoming film focuses on Lucy Gray Baird, played by Rachel Zegler, and her mentor Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth), who later becomes the president of Panem.

The story watches as they struggle to find their place between good and evil, forced to make compromises to survive. While Baird is thrust into the deadly game as a tribute from the desolate District 12, Snow bears the responsibility of his family’s legacy as they fell from power and grace within the Capitol. Joining Zegler and Blyth are Peter Dinklage as the creator of The Hunger Games, alongside Hunter Schafer, Viola Davis and Jason Schwartzman.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes will premiere in theaters on November 17. Watch the trailer in the gallery above.
