New Balance Unveils 550 in "Sea Salt" Colorways

If there’s one thing that New Balance does well, it’s craft timeless silhouettes. Among them is the 550, a low-cut tried-and-true sneaker that has been reimagined by the likes of Aimé Leon Dore and thisisneverthat.
Now, the Boston-based brand is refreshing the classic shape with a seaside-inspired wash of colors — “Blue,” “Olive,” “Green,” and “Orange.” The sneaker is constructed of mixed materials, contrasting the bolder tones with sandy, beige “Sea Salt” tones across the body in leather and suede. Meanwhile, the collection’s color palette brightens up the “N” logos, collar overlays, tongue branding, as well as a strip of mesh underneath the tongue. Each sneaker is kissed by a white sole unit, mirroring the perfect beachy shore.
While a release date is unknown at this time, customers can expect the “Sea Salt” collection New Balance 550s towards this summer on the brand’s online store, retailing for $120 USD.
