Meet the New Skin Tint That Held up in 90-Degree New Orleans Heat
Our beauty editor gives his honest thoughts on the Keys Soulcare “It’s Like Skin” 2-in-1 Concealer + Tint.
It’s incredibly frustrating to have high expectations for a new product only to be let down by its performance. Makeup products can be especially tricky, as the shades and pigments can vary greatly from what you see in advertisements or online. While it’s important to research and read reviews before making a purchase, there’s still a chance that the product won’t work for you. These were my initial thoughts and more when I got my hands on the Keys Soulcare “It’s Like Skin” 2-in-1 Concealer + Tint.
Why The Hype?
I’ve tried out a lot of celebrity-backed beauty brands, and I have to admit Keys Soulcare is one of the best. Most of the time, these brands are just overhyped and not worth the money, but Keys Soulcare is a rare exception. The products are high-quality, effective, and definitely worth the investment. (The brand’s “Sheer Flush” Blush Cheek Tint is world-class. But that’s another story for another day.)
The “It’s Like Skin” 2-in-1 Concealer + Tint really lived up to its name. I used shade “520 N” as my base and “510 W” as my concealer for my first trial run. The product claims to be “infused with a skin-nourishing squalane blend and 2% niacinamide for a natural radiant skin-like finish,” and I can attest that it’s true. When I applied the product, my skin appeared radiant and non-greasy. The shade I used under my eyes and in my mouth area to spot-treat my 5 o’clock shadow blended in flawlessly, providing me with a genuine “second-skin” look. I would chunk up this affect to the thick doe foot applicator that makes the product apply effortlessly.
When I first tested the skin tint, I wore it to an event in New York when the weather was a comfortable 75 degrees. It looked great and felt comfortable, but I put really this skin tint to the test when I wore it again in the scorching heat of New Orleans.
Surprisingly I was impressed with how well it held up in the heat. I had to be outside for over 8 hours and only needed to do a few light touch-ups and blotting throughout the day. Finding a product that can withstand the hot southern summer weather is difficult, but this one exceeded my expectations.
How Much Does It Cost?
Keys Soulcare’s “It’s Like Skin” 2-in-1 Concealer + Tint comes in 40 shades, retails for $28 USD and is available via the brand’s website.
The Final Verdict:
The way this skin tint showed up and out in the New Orleans heat was truly impressive. I feel confident in saying that this quickly became my go-to summer skin tint. The buildable coverage it provides is exactly what most beauty enthusiasts desire, and it feels like you’re not wearing anything at all. Overall, I would give this product a 10 out of 10 and recommend it to a friend of a friend.
