Environment-Friendly Brand MOB Beauty Drops New, Biodegradable Packaging
With co-founder and MAC Cosmetics’ former chief chemist Victor Casale leading the charge.
MOB Beauty, the brand dedicated to “doing beauty better,” has made industry history with its new biodegradable packaging not meant to last longer than intended.
After three years of research and development, co-founder and MAC Cosmetics‘ former chief chemist Victor Casale solved an actual sustainable problem by creating packaging for MOB Beauty that is durable enough to hold its high-performance formulas but not so durable that it would remain on the Earth longer than its intended use. The new packaging can be recycled or discarded environmentally safely after use as it is made with mono-material fiber pulps that turn into dirt at the end of life. MOB Beauty’s updated packaging will be available for compacts, lipsticks, mascara and its upcoming setting powder. MOB’s refills are made with 100% PET or PP and 50-100% post-consumer recycled material.
