Apple To Unveil New AirPods With USB-C Charging at "Wonderlust" Event

As Apple’s “Wonderlust” event approaches, rumors swirl about the tech giant introducing a new addition to its AirPods lineup.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to launch updated AirPods with a USB-C charging case, replacing the current Lightning port. This aligns with Apple’s commitment to meet new European Union regulations requiring USB-C charging ports for electronic devices. Gurman notes this marks the first iPhone connector switch in over a decade.
The shift to USB-C extends to all four upcoming iPhone models, indicating a significant change in Apple’s product design—a transition that promises faster charging and broader compatibility with various devices. The event is also expected to unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 15 lineup, alongside speculation about the Apple Watch Series 9 and a next-generation Apple Watch Ultra.
Apple’s “Wonderlust” event will take place on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.
