Take an Official Look at Kiko Kostadinov's OTTO 958 x ASICS GEL-FLEXKEE 958

ASICS is preparing for the debut of its inaugural collaboration with OTTO 958, a project born from the creative minds of Kiko Kostadinov and the international art gallery Morán Morán. The result is the highly anticipated GEL-FLEXKEE 958, a reinterpretation of the Japanese footwear label’s FLEXKEE silhouette.
The FLEXKEE was originally developed by analyzing the movements of skateboard athletes at the ASICS Sports Engineering Laboratory. Renowned for its exceptional functionality, the shoe’s standout feature is its midsole, featuring a separated forefoot area. The GEL-FLEXKEE 958 boasts a full-leather upper with an asymmetric lacing system and a quilted toe box. The tongue is enhanced with an enlarged flap that conceals the laces, prominently showcasing the OTTO 958 signature “O” logo in raised embroidery, complemented by an additional logo gracing the heel.
The release includes two initial colorways: “Gunmetal/Black” and “Hunter Green/Black,” with a third colorway slated for later this year. To introduce the GEL-FLEXKEE 958, a campaign was filmed in Athens, Ohio, during the summer of 2023. The visuals unfold in and around a drained 1.2 million-gallon lazy river on the property of Lizzie Fitch and Ryan Trecartin in the Midwestern United States.
The OTTO 958 x ASICS GEL-FLEXKEE 958 sneaker launches via OTTO 958’s website on September 7 at 10 a.m. PST, priced at $160 USD.
