Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS Unveil the Final Act of Their "Buckle Yup" Tabi Collab
With the highly-anticipated ILARGI FF II sneaker finally dropping this month.
Get ready for the grand finale of one of the year’s most creative fashion crossovers. American artist Ryan Trecartin has officially unveiled Buckle Yup: Voice-Undered Romantic, marking the third and final installment of his episodic trilogy for Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS. The release perfectly coincides with the highly-anticipated global launch of the llargi FF II sneaker.
Shot on location in Okinawa, Japan with a cast of local actors, the new short-form “commercial” concludes a series of experimental visual projects dropped throughout 2026. Granted complete creative freedom over the casting, directing and editing, Trecartin subverts the traditional commercial genre by leaning into abstraction and playing with the medium’s unique boundaries. The ongoing collaboration further cements the artistic dialogue between Kostadinov and Trecartin, following their previous partnerships at the brand’s flagship stores in Tokyo, Los Angeles and London.
As for the footwear, the Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS ILARGI FF II initially made its debut during the Spring/Summer 2026 Menswear presentation. The ultra-lightweight runner features a striking, avant-garde split-toe tabi silhouette and is elevated with a sleek gradient effect finish across the upper.
The Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS ILARGI FF II is finally scheduled to launch in physical stores worldwide on July 9, followed by an online release on July 11 via the Kiko Kostadinov website. Keep an eye out for a full-length compilation film of the entire BUCKLE YUP trilogy releasing later this year.
In other news, FP Movement and ASICS are releasing their first footwear collaboration.
