Billie Eilish Wishes She Never Came Out, She Says
In a new interview, the celebrity opens up about coming out.
When news broke that Billie Eilish “came out” in 2024, the news went viral. A few days later, Eilish was asked about her sexuality on the red carpet and stated that coming out was never her intent. The move led to her losing over 100k followers and remaining hush on the topic — outside of a clear bid for Charli XCX on “Guess.”
In a new interview with Vogue, Eilish revealed, ”I wish no one knew anything about my sexuality or anything about my dating life. Ever, ever, ever. And I hope that they never will again. I’m never talking about my sexuality ever again. And I’m never talking about who I’m dating ever again.”
For those unfamiliar, Eilish’s dating history has long made headlines. Most recently, her age gap relationship with The 1975 member, Jesse Rutherford. At the time, she was 20 and he was 31, unearthing a world of think pieces on the dynamic.
Previously, she opened up about her journey with body acceptance and how masturbation helped. However, this had deep consequences for the artist. ”I guess I also underestimate that things I say will be blown up into the biggest news of the whole world… We’re all babies. We’re all little kids growing up and learning ourselves.”
