The Chocolate Cherry Hair Trend Is Here To Stay

You’ve seen it, we’ve seen it — the chocolate cherry brunette hair trend is still going as strong as ever. A color we thought would eventually fade with the summer ending, there’s no shortage of TikTok videos infiltrating our feeds with influencers deeming it the new hottest hair color trend going. Even celebrities like Jenna Ortega and Dove Cameron have dabbled in owning the crimson mane, but it’s pop sensation Dua Lipa who’s kept the internet’s obsession going strong.
Chocolate cherry hair can vary in appearance, but it usually incorporates deep pinkish-red and dark brown shades. This effect can be achieved with a deep chocolate brown base and undertones of brown, mahogany, and auburn. Then, the hair is topped with a cherry gloss or highlights that can be subtle, bold, or whatever intensity you choose. It’ll lean burgundy in most cases, but it should always nod to a dark cherry red.
Either way, this is a universally flattering hair color, that works on various skin tones and hair textures.
