MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon Bring Us the “XT-MARY J”
A Kawaii spin on Salomon’s “XT-4” trail runner.
Maison Margiela has been making waves this year, kicking things off with a standout Spring/Summer 2024 haute couture runway show and building immense hype around its iconic “Tabi” silhouette. Now, as the year draws to a close, Margiela’s ready-to-wear line, MM6 has teamed up with none other than Salomon, the beloved trail footwear brand, to bring us a fresh new release: the “XT-MARY J” shoe, part of the MM6 Fall/Winter 2024 collection.
This shoe is truly one of a kind. The “XT-MARY J” offers a playful twist on Salomon’s rugged “XT-4” trail runner, reimagined as a dainty, feminine “Mary Jane” with a velcro strap. The shoe’s silhouette features a wide, open design toward the toes, balanced by a delicate single velcro strap closure, giving it a cute and charming feel. It’s a kawaii-inspired take that softens the bold technical elements of a performance-driven trail shoe, merging functionality with an unexpected touch of femininity.
The “XT-MARY J” is available in two distinct colorways. The first is vibrant and bold, with a mix of bright pink, “Acid” yellow, “Acqua” green and “Terracotta” orange for those who love to stand out. The second colorway is more subdued and monochromatic, blending shades of black, navy blue and grey with a light, chunky sole for a more understated look.
