Heritage denim brand Wrangler debuts its iconic 13MWZ® Original Cowboy Cut™ jean silhouette in Europe for Fall/Winter 2024.

Having been a wardrobe staple for generations of cowboys and rodeo champions across the US, the model embraces the brand’s ethos of freedom, heritage and progressiveness, and has been virtually unchanged since its launch in 1947. Crafted in heavyweight 100% cotton, the ridged denim is designed to mold to the wearer’s shape and is built to last a lifetime. Arriving in seven washes including “Classic Black,” “Tan,” “Stonewash,” and “Chocolate,” the new collection boasts a mid-rise, regular thigh and straight leg opening, relaxed-fit, bootcut silhouette synonymous with the style of the community.

Celebrating its debut in the continent, Wrangler teamed up with vintage specialist store Kiliwatch in the bustling Marais neighborhood in Paris for an intimate event ahead of the city’s fashion week.

Enlisting one of this generation’s most exciting artists, Navinder Nangla is revered for his unconventional aesthetic and red squiggle line typography work with his art and aura reminiscent of the pop art icons who preceded him. Hosting an exclusive customization station at the event, visitors were able to take their pick of leather belts and have them personalized with the artist’s signature misspelled text as they waited.

“Wrangla by Nangla,” “Hauwdee” and “Kakctuz” are just some of the cowboy-themed idioms Nangla added alongside names and messages in his style. “My favorite things that I customized were people’s names because they start smiling when I spell it [my way],” Nangla tells Hypebae, referencing his dyslexia. “It’s always great to be at places where people can interact with my art and I can interact with them also. My art is for the people.”

Whether it’s attendees arriving in full denim fits and curated country music soundtrack or the store offering a cowboy hat customization space as well as a vintage-style photo booth — the cowboy theme was incorporated into all aspects of the night.
