Nike and Zalando Celebrate Berlin’s Diverse Cultural Fabric in Style By Season Three

Get inspiration on how to wear the latest sneaker drops straight from the capital’s creative communities.

When you think of Berlin, the first thing that will likely come to mind is its techno enthusiasts. And, although this remains a cornerstone of the city’s heritage, Nike and Zalando have set out to showcase the lesser-known lifestyles and communities that coexist in the capital for the latest installment of Style By.

Having previously teamed up to spotlight various locations including Greece, Nike and Zalando have continued to use the fashion-forward series as a creative lens into global cultural scenes. Not only focusing on the nuances in garment style, the duo have also explored how unique “style personalities” put their spin the sneaker brand’s signature footwear – such as the Cortez – in an effort to deliver a diverse array of on-trend lookbooks that serve as a source of inspiration for the respective season.

In the newest feature, Zalando harnesses its in-the-know streetwear expertise to highlight three distinctive Berlin neighborhoods: Prenzlauer Berg, Mitte, and Neukölln. The first – nicknamed by locals as P-Berg – is aptly assigned the P-6000. With its cafés and boutiques on every corner, the area has given birth to a playfully sporty style, reflected in the pairing of track pants, a zip-up top, and a knitted hood. To make the outfit look readily picture-perfect for the holidays, the sneaker’s striking overlay and midsole are complemented with icy blue tones throughout the garments.

Over in Mitte, the style segment hones in on the ultra-cool and contemporary flair of city-goers, and similarly the architectural neighborhood that they inhabit. At the base of the inspired outfit, the plush Cortez SE – sold exclusively at Zalando – lends a showstopping accent with its metallic tones and fold-over tongue. The rest of the respective look is built with shorts and a shirt, cloaked with a trench coat, providing a versatile style for professionals on the go.

Closing the series is Neukölln which brings forth the Nike Shox TL. Ideal for weaving through the neighborhood’s multicultural hotspots, the Shox TL delivers a layer of comfort from its impact-absorbing TPU plate as well as cutting-edge caged style. It lands alongside an outfit comprised of black yoga pants and a bomber jacket – both actively aligned and on-trend. Together, this cross-section of cultural tribes showcases Berlin in a new light where its contrasting aesthetics allow for style to be expressed in its truest form.
