Miu Miu and New Balance Officially Debut the New 530 SL Sneaker
Currently available in Tokyo, with a wider release expected to follow.
Another Miu Miu x New Balance collaboration surfaced online just ahead of the fashion label’s upcoming Paris Fashion Week show. This time taking over the 530 SL silhouette, the teaser saw Miu Miu fusing raw-edged aesthetic with New Balance’s classic footwear styles.
Teased via social media, the new kicks appear to be crafted with a dual-lacing system, a feature that we’ve seen grace such collaborations in the past. Featuring both navy and white laces, the shoes feature co-branding across the tongue, while the crisp upper appears to be designed with a mesh base and suede overlays.
Now, the official campaign has been launched, starring Peris Adolwi, Julie Hoomans and Florine Wildeboer. Aiming to recreate “stolen moments,” the campaign captures its models against a white background complete with blank phone screens and crumpled white sheets.
The collaborative shoe transcends its performance-oriented beginnings, reimagined with luxurious suede, leather and mesh and crafted with an all-over minimal design. Reinventing its classic proportions, the new version boasts an ultra-flat sole and promises to be a “super light” silhouette. Arriving in two colorways, the distressed sneaker boasts both a warm, natural brown hue with orange laces and a classic white and navy blue pair.
