Ace & Tate Launches First Collaboration With Ahluwalia

Inspired by the brand’s SS24 collection, “Acknowledgements.”

Just in time for brighter days, Ace & Tate has just unveiled its first-ever collection with award-winning brand Ahluwalia.

An expansion of Ahluwalia’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection “Acknowledgements,” the eyewear collaboration pays homage to deserving artists of the diaspora who haven’t gotten their due. “We fell in love with the patterns Priya designed for her collection and we jazzed up our Mirko and Niku frames with these patterns. We are really excited and proud to launch this collaboration with Ahluwalia,” Torunn Gullaksen, Head of Design at Ace & Tate shares in an exclusive press release.

The vibrant Mirko and Niku frames give overlooked creatives their flowers with the addition of abstract floral motifs, resulting in thoughtful and dynamic designs. “For this collaboration I infused our signature style, playing with layering prints and textured acetate, resulting in a unique visual tapestry. The journey from concept to production was fun and inspiring and I can’t wait to see people wear the sunglasses,” creative director Priya Ahluwalia adds. The former style boasts an angular shape and arrives in a vivacious pink colorway with a speckled print, which takes inspiration from Algerian artist Baya Mahieddine. Mirko also appears in a classic tortoiseshell frame and blue lenses, offering a slightly subdued option. Upon closer inspection, the interior reveals a playful pattern reminiscent of a sunset. Meanwhile, the Niku sunglasses flaunt a rectangular silhouette and are decorated with the Aurat and Valaida motif. A bold “A” is integrated into the legs of the glasses for added flair. Brown and white leaves are scattered across black frames, outlining purple lenses. Elsewhere, deep cobalt waves flow across a clear blue backdrop, matching the lightly tinted opticals.

The collaboration will be available on March 21 at the Ace & Tate Hanbury store as well as online with prices starting at $150 USD and £130 GBP.
