Kylie Jenner Reveals Inspiration Behind Cosmic Perfume Notes
It’s a “sweet, warm and magnetic” scent, Jenner tells us.
Kylie Jenner is no stranger to releasing sold-out beauty products to her loyal fan base. What started out as lip kit launches quickly turned into an in-demand cosmetics line full of her must-have makeup items. Since then, the entrepreneur has also released a clothing line called “Khy” and now she’s expanding her beauty empire into the world of fragrance.
While the social media titan has shared many of her beauty favorites on Instagram over the years, she hasn’t revealed much about her go-to scents. So, what scent notes are Jenner’s favorites? In her new fragrance, Cosmic, the notes include star jasmine, vanilla musk, peony and amber, to name a few. All in all, a rich floral vibe seems to be in Jenner’s wheelhouse. She describes the perfume as “sweet, warm, and magnetic” and hopes to transport fans into another dimension, one spritz at a time.

On the inspiration and personal meaning behind the scent
A fragrance is one of the most personal products you can create. For our first fragrance, I wanted to create something that was truly unique to me in every aspect, from the scent to the bottle. We spent over two years on this; I wanted it to smell “out of this world.” Cosmic Kylie Jenner features some of my favorite notes, including star jasmine and vanilla musk. I love vanilla scents and naturally gravitate towards them so, it was important that my first fragrance included vanilla. The notes of peonies and star jasmine in Cosmic are nostalgic to me because they remind me of the floral perfumes my mom would wear when I was growing up.
On why she chose “Cosmic” as the fragrance name
When I finally landed on that perfect scent, it smelled truly out of this world so, the name came naturally. Then we developed the bottle, which was important to me because it looked like a piece of art or sculpture from another world.
On what she hopes people will feel like when wearing the scent
I hope they feel confident, sophisticated and sexy.
On the legacy she wants to leave in the beauty world
I am so proud of what we’ve created with Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin. Every launch is designed for a specific purpose. So much detail goes into every product, from the formulas to the shade names, colors and packaging. I want to continue working hard to create an amazing assortment of products that not only I’m obsessed with, but everyone else is, too.
