It seems every week there’s a new dating trend and this week’s moment might be controversial. Slow burn dating is the opposite of every fire sign’s fav: falling in love overnight. For Upward lovers, slow burn dating is the five-hour date, versus the usual 90 minutes over coffee or dinner. Approximately “half of the couples who found love on the app, had an epic five-hour first date,” the brand shared.

Rachel DeAlto, the brand’s chief dating expert, says the secret to slow burn dating, or in this case, surviving a five-hour date, is all about “taking the time to really get to know someone before deciding if they’re worth pursuing.”
