The theme for the 2024 Met Gala was “The Garden of Time,” relating to the theme of “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” which celebrates the opening of the Spring 2024 exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. As always, the theme is very much open to interpretation and typically tends to be a little vague in order to elicit a slew of different takes.
This year, it appeared that a few key trends were circulating the red (green) carpet and as we frantically compiled our best-dressed lists and couple debuts, we noticed some similarities in our favorite looks. The 2024 theme appeared to quite frequently be interpreted in one of two ways: delicate, white and cream angelic looks or darker, vampier approaches.
Looks came courtesy of red carpet faves like LOEWE, Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen, channelled by names like Dua Lipa, Taylor Russell and FKA twigs.
