Alexa Chung and Barbour Just Dropped the Ultimate Rainy Day Wardrobe
With each piece in the collection named after her close friends and family.
Alexa Chung has and will always be that girl. However, she’s come a long way from the Fuse News days and just launched a new Fall/Winter 2024 collection with Barbour. Titled “The Edit by Alexa Chung,” the collection is creatively directed and designed by Chung herself.
Not only is it a celebration of their long-standing relationship, but also a tribute to Chung’s distinctive style. “I am so pleased to be exploring a new chapter with Barbour. Designing this collection was a total joy,” Chung says in a press release. “My intention was to create something immediate that reflects my wardrobe, interests and style in this moment, while staying true to the brand’s epic heritage,” she adds.
While Barbour’s heritage may be rooted in clothing made for fishermen and farmers, Chung has proven its versatility by styling it in unexpected ways — like pairing a wax jacket with a delicate slip dress at Glastonbury. A longtime pioneer of mixing rugged outerwear with classic feminine silhouettes, this collaboration feels like a perfect match.
Some of the key pieces in the collection show wax jackets with tartan liners, vibrant quilted outerwear and knitwear crafted by Harleys of Scotland. The footwear selection is equally impressive, including short “Wellington” boots inspired by Chung’s “Chelsea” boot and effortlessly chic slip-on clogs. Adding a personal touch, each piece in the collection is named after her closest friends and family. For instance, the “Dominic” striped crew neck jumper is a tribute to her brother.
One of our fave pieces is the “Maximilian” ruffled long-sleeve shirt and we know the girlies are going to love this one. Drawing inspiration from Chung’s signature love for “Peter Pan” collars, this blouse offers a more sophisticated twist on the classic style. The delicate ruffles flow elegantly down to the cuffs, adding a refined and elevated touch to your tailored wardrobe, making it a perfect blend of playful nostalgia and grown-up chic.
The whole collection is available to purchase on Barbour online. Click the gallery to check out the pieces.
