Japan's Most Stylish Wrestling League, Sukeban, Is Taking Over Art Basel Miami

Bringing beauty, fashion and lots of latex to the world’s biggest art fair.

Japan‘s all-female wrestling league, Sukeban, is returning to the United States for Art Basel Miami, bringing style, flair and captivating characters to the city for only the second time. A World Championship match will take place during the events at the popular art fair, acting as one stop on a sold-out tour. Other stops include New York, London, Berlin and Los Angeles.

The league is as much a fashion show as it is a professional wrestling outfit. Latex, detailed makeup, subcultures and intentional styling come together to create the ultimate form of entertainment. Think “G.L.O.W” but for the contemporary fashion lover. Sukeban is performance art at its finest, so what better arena to leave it all in the ring than Art Basel?

Reigning champion Atomic Banshee of The Vandals will face Ichigo Sayaka, the leader of the Harajuku Stars, in a matchup that brings two of Sukeban’s biggest names and girl gangs up against each other. With the backdrop of Miami Beach creating the perfect stage for the league’s masterful storytelling, viewers are in for a treat this year.

Sukeban’s World Championship match will take place on December 3 at the Miami Beach Bandshell. For more information and to get tickets, visit the Sukeban website.
