OTW by Vans has partnered with Sterling Ruby’s S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. again, dropping a new set of must-have shoes for last-minute gift list additions. Their last collection was a clear marriage of aesthetics, with bold-patterned sneakers and bright colors. This time, the two brands are exploring and reimagining the history of footwear, drawing inspiration from the past, remodeling the present and brainstorming the future.
The new collaboration features two sneaker silhouettes and one futuristic take on traditional Dutch wooden clogs. The “Authentic Prima” sneaker is a retro restyle of Vans’ signature Authentic silo, arriving in a classic shade of white reminiscent of vintage tennis shoes. Like a pair of plimsolls straight out of Grease, the sleek sneakers feature a rubber toe cap and a full-leather upper, bringing the nostalgic pair back into the 21st century. This blast from the past sits next to a black and beige checkered Authentic sneaker, with the S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. logo written around the sole.
The “Future Clog” is the showstopper in this collection, offering a two-in-one style that you can’t get anywhere else. Available in both a bright green and a crisp white, the clogs are made to have the same chunky look as the Dutch ones that inspired them. Meant to switch seamlessly from an indoor to outdoor shoe, a minimalistic mule insert allows you to wear your indoor slippers without sacrificing an outfit.
