Angel Reese Earns New Nickname From WNBA
It’s comeback season.
After winning BET‘s “Sportswoman of the Year” award for the third year in a row, WNBA player Angel Reese hits a new record and earns an honorary nickname.
During a June game, the Chicago Sky forward Reese hit her first-ever career triple-double. This means that she hit double-digit scores in three categories. The win has earned her the nickname, “TRIPLE-DOUBLE BARBIE” — straight from the WNBA Twitter account. For those curious, WNBA player Alyssa Thomas holds the most triple-doubles in the league.
Setting personal records is a common occurrence for Reese, however. Despite not playing her best this season — her words, not ours — she still hit two personal bests this season. Her last iconic move? Becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to hit 500 points and 500 rebounds. She did this in just 38 games.

Of course, Reese haters are still berating the WNBA player and fashion industry favorite. One fan replied to the WNBA’s tweet, “Angel Reese really has full-time haters. Check the comments.” And it’s true.
Regardless, we stan our WNBA fav.
In other news, Beyoncé is already planning her next tour — this is not a drill.
