Jessica Alba Enters KATSEYE's World
In a new telenovela-style music video.
KATSEYE releases the “Gabriela” music video with a cameo from actor, Jessica Alba.
Released on June 20, the new single “Gabriela” already had fans addicted. ”This music reminded me of Teresa’s intro music. I can’t wait to listen to this. Katseye will rock this genre.” Another added in the YouTube comments section, “Mexican Telenovela… so cute.”
The EYEKONS — KATSEYE’s fanbase — immediately began sharing predictions from Dani singing in Spanish to a genre confirmation. However, there’s one comment that seems to resonate with most of the EYEKONS: “It’s like we’re back to the overly dramatic telenovelas in the early ’00s. The styling and vibes of the teaser makes it seem like it…”
From then, the telenovela theory was born. This was followed by questions of which genre the group will claim. Given that the girls have range, they’ve delivered everything from pop to rap, so the options were endless. For those unfamiliar, the group is composed of six members: Manon, Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae. Daniela has American roots but is Venezuelan and Cuban, meaning the new single could be their first foray into the chaotic, yet romantic world of telenovelas.
Well, on June 24, the global girl group released the “Gabriela” music video — with a cameo from Jessica Alba. Tune in below.
